A live math race for your classroom
You know the drill: one code on the board, thirty phones, and suddenly mental math is the loudest part of the day. MathRise sessions work like the live quiz games your class already loves — except the questions are real mental-math training, tuned to the level you choose, and it costs nothing.
Create a session
Open Friends → Group session. Pick the difficulty — from first sums to two-digit products — and the length: 5, 10, 15 or 20 problems. You get a 6-letter code. You can play along, or run it from the front.
Write the code on the board
Students open MathRise and enter the code. No student accounts, no emails, no class list to set up — the app is anonymous by design. A whole class joins in under a minute.
Race — then rematch
Everyone gets the exact same problems at the same moment. Fastest correct answers win. The board shows the full ranking at the end, and a new round is one tap.
The one thing to prepare
Students need the app installed — a one-time, under-a-minute setup that works on any phone or tablet. Have them install it the day before your first session (or at the start of class), and every session after that starts in seconds. Between sessions, the app is a full training ground on its own: ranked duels, practice by theme, a daily worldwide challenge.
Privacy, for schools
Students join anonymously: no email, no name, no account required. A student picks a display name for the session and that's it. What little the app collects and why is in the privacy policy — short version: the minimum to run the ladder.
Free on both stores — sessions included, no teacher account either.
