A live mental math race for your classroom
You know the drill: one code on the board, thirty phones, and suddenly mental math is the loudest part of the day. MathRise sessions work like the live quiz games your class already loves — except the questions are real mental math training, tuned to the level you choose, and it costs nothing.
How it works

Create a session
On the home screen, open Group session. Pick the difficulty — from first additions to two-digit multiplication — and the length: 5, 10, 15 or 20 problems. You get a 6-character code. Play along with the class, or host from the front.

Write the code on the board
Students open MathRise and type the code. No student accounts, no emails, no rosters to set up — the app is anonymous by design. A whole class is in within a minute.

Race — then race again
Everyone gets exactly the same problems at the same moment. Fastest correct answers win. The full ranking shows at the end, and the next round starts in one tap.
The only thing to prepare
Students need the app installed — a one-time install of under a minute, on any phone or tablet. Have them install it the day before your first session (or at the start of class), and every session after that starts in seconds. Between sessions, the app is a full practice ground: ranked duels, practice by theme, a worldwide daily challenge.
Privacy, for schools
Students join anonymously: no email, no real name, no account required. A student picks a nickname for the session, and that's it. What the app collects (very little) and why is in the privacy policy — in short: the minimum to run the leaderboard.
Questions, answered
Do my students need an account?
No. Students type the session code and a nickname — no email, no sign-up, no roster. Accounts are optional and only matter to students who want to keep their progress across devices.
Which devices work?
Any iPhone, iPad or Android phone or tablet with the free MathRise app. Students on different devices race in the same session.
Can I choose the difficulty?
Yes. When you create the session you pick the level — from first additions to two-digit multiplication — and the number of problems per round (5, 10, 15 or 20).
What does it cost?
Nothing. Sessions are free, with no limit on classes or rounds, and there is no teacher account to buy.
